Everything You Need to Know About Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15025 ISO Download
I just downloaded a fresh copy of WIn 10.0.15025 iso from a MICROSOFT website and then, using the install.wim file in the just downloaded iso, I ran the following DISM command:DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:"D:\Win10Install\sources\install.wim":1 /LimitAccessAt 86.5%, it failed returning the following error:Start Error: --------------------------------------[===========================86.5%================== ]Error: 0x800f081fThe source files could not be found.Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see =243077.The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.logEnd Error: ----------------------------------------Isn't it inappropriate and erroneous for the error to tell me to use the Source option? It certainly seems so to me.

My real problem is that upgrade attempts to 15031 and now 15042 are failing at around 24%. The computer just turns off. The same thing happened with 15025 over 15025. I even had someone tell me that I should just go ahead and do a clean install of windows, as if I wasn't aware of that horrible option. It's the three weeks after a clean install trying to get back to where I was that makes such a choice prohibitive. And then I'd only be at 90 = 95% of where I was. It's ridiculous. No one should ever have to do this. Microsoft should be ashamed.Still, If there are no problems as reported by the sfc /scannow process, then there shouldn't be the DISM error, in my view. It may well be that there is absolutely NO connection between the DISM error and the upgrade attempt failure.I am shooting in the dark here and just want to get back to being productive producing software. I hate having to spend hour after hour getting things right in windows. It's as if I live to serve windows, when it should be serving me, instead... Thanks for your response.
